Helping Leaders To Confront Re-org In a More Effective Way

The client is a facing a big challenging in slowing down growth speed in China. One of the key reasons is their current org structure is designed based on a traditional process driven pattern, which is not “agile” enough to respond fast enough to market changes, especially in a VUCA era.
Company has assigned this Org Re-structuring project to one of a well-competent BU leader, Jane. In the past years, she has delivered consistent high performance in business results.
• What could be the “right” future Org Structure? There is no ready answer.
Although Jane has a good past performance record in business results, she did not have prior experience in Org Re-structuring. She is not confident in her capability to lead and drive such a brand new task. Thus her attitude to drive the changes is not so firm.
• How to ensure the team success when they seem to be not highly motivated?
The Org Re-structuring is targeted for future long term success, however, in short term, it will cause some pain when people have to change and adapt to new things. And the motivation will become lower.
• How to reinforce the “trust” with team members during the change course?
Jane’s used to be more micro-management style, delegation is not so often. This shows her not confident and “trust” team members’ capability. She shall change her management style to show she trust and care for their growth.
